Teachers' role in the new IT era
Teachers have to rethink about their roles in this new era. The textbooks and reference books are not doctrines just for teachers anymore. Students can find much more learning materials and get answers to whatever questions they have. Being a teacher does not mean being authentic anymore. And they are facilitators, consultant, and motivators now, which makes different requirements for us.

It is true that teachers' role has to change in such a speedy world, because the modern teaching and learning resources are available to both teachers and students. And teachers shall be instructors and collaborators of students in their learning. Teachers shall release the control of the class to the hand of students.
I do agree with Shuhua's idea about teacher new roles, and she also covers what I have not considered---that is, teachers should be motivators. I think it will be very challenging for us to meet the requirements.
